Status reference

Understand statuses

Chanakya AI shows one status for the assessment paper and another for each Student submission. Read the label in the current row before choosing an action.

Assessment statuses

Status	What it means	What to do
Fetching	Chanakya AI is loading the assessment record.	Wait for the list or paper to finish loading.
Uploading	The paper or file is being transferred.	Keep the page open and do not submit it again.
Extracting or Extracting Answer	Chanakya AI is reading the uploaded paper or answer key.	Wait for processing to finish.
Generating Questions or Generating Answer	Questions or answers are being prepared.	Wait, then preview the result.
Evaluating	The generated or extracted content is being checked.	Wait for Pending or another final state.
Pending	The paper needs review before approval.	A Teacher or authorized Administrator should preview it.
Approved	The paper passed review and is ready for its scheduled use.	Confirm dates and the assigned class.
In Progress	The assessment is currently active.	Students complete work; staff monitor participation.
Completed	The active period or attempt has ended.	Staff can begin or monitor marking.
Grading	Submitted work is being marked.	Wait before treating results as final.
Graded	Marking produced results.	Staff should review evidence before publication.
Published	Reviewed results are available to Students.	Students can open the available result or analysis.
Rejected	The paper was not approved.	Read the reason, correct the paper, and review it again.
Deleted	The assessment is removed from active lists.	An Administrator can recover it or, with authorization, delete it permanently.

Submission statuses

Status	What it means	What to do
Not Submitted	No final submission was received.	Check the deadline and available action.
In Progress	The Student started but has not completed the submission.	Continue and submit before the deadline.
Uploading…	The answer file is transferring.	Keep the page open. Do not upload another copy.
Submitted	The final response was received.	Wait for extraction and marking.
Extracting…	Chanakya AI is reading the submitted answer sheet.	Wait for the next status.
Grading…	The submission is being marked.	Wait before requesting a result review.
Graded	Marks exist and analysis may start next.	Teachers should review when the action becomes available.
Analysing…	Feedback and performance information are being prepared.	Wait for Analysed.
Analysed	Analysis is ready for staff review but may not be visible to the Student.	Teachers review and publish when appropriate.
Published	The Student can see the shared result.	Review questions, feedback, and next actions.

Availability labels

Label	What it means
Upcoming	The work is scheduled but is not open yet.
Not Scheduled	No end date is available for the item shown. Check the assessment details.
Expired	The deadline passed. The paper may remain viewable, but a new submission is not normally available.
Disabled action	An earlier step, required submission, deadline, permission, or plan feature prevents the action.

Failure statuses

Upload Failed, Extraction Failed, Generation Failed, Answer Extraction Failed, Answer Generation Failed, Evaluation Failed, Grading Failed, and Analysis Failed need attention.

Do not repeat the action several times.
Note the exact status, assessment, Student when relevant, and approximate time.
Confirm that the source file opens correctly.
Retry only when the page offers a safe retry or re-upload action.
Contact the responsible Teacher, Administrator, or support contact if the failure remains.

Available actions depend on your role, the school plan, and the assessment stage. A disabled action usually means that an earlier step is incomplete.
